What is Somatic Coaching?
Somatic: of, relating to, or affecting the body
Soma: the body living in its wholeness
What would it be like to embody a more authentic experience of yourself?
To act in alignment with your most deeply held values?
To navigate high-pressure situations with more skill?
To experience more connected and satisfying relationships with others?
Somatic coaching offers a way to come home to yourself, so you can live and lead with more Presence, ease, and authenticity. Many of us move through life with our bodies in the background, only noticing them when something hurts or stops working. Yet our bodies are rich with wisdom, and guidance that can help us navigate change, pursue what matters, and feel more alive.
In our work together, we gently invite the body into the conversation. We explore your lived experience, not just your thoughts, but the patterns of attention, tension, and emotion that have quietly shaped how you move in and see the world. These patterns formed for good reasons, but over time they can limit your energy, narrow your perspective, and keep you from the possibilities right in front of you.
You’ve probably heard a lot about emotional intelligence. When we spend so much effort holding back our feelings, we also hold back our natural intelligence, creativity, and connection. It’s tiring, stressful, and isolating. Somatic coaching helps you soften those protective habits in a way that feels safe and empowering, so more of you becomes available to your life.
We explore where your challenges and impediments live in your body. From there, new choices, clarity, and resilience can emerge. Somatic coaching gives you a supportive space to reconnect with your own resourcefulness and embody the change you want to bring into the world.
What does this coaching approach look like in practice?
In relation to your goals and direction, we attune to what’s happening in your body. The habits and tensions that may be quietly shaping your experience. This helps us surface what matters most and clarifies the meaningful work you’re being called toward.
In our early sessions, we learn a few simple somatic principles along with grounding, centering, and gentle breathing practices. We then explore ways to soften long-held tension, through light breathwork, self-contact, stretching, and conversational practices that support new patterns.
You’re also welcome to take an optional Enneagram assessment. It’s not about identifying your “type,” but about deepening your self-understanding and noticing long-standing patterns that may show up as tension in your body.
This work is always customized. No two people are alike, and you’ll have choices in how you approach these inner landscapes. Together, we follow the path that feels right for you.
Additionally, I’ll provide you with recordings of somatic practices, written materials, and guided meditations to supplement your practice. If you’ve never practiced anything like this before, no worries, it’s a very gentle and customized approach for exactly where you are.

What is the inspiration for this way of working?
My approach is based on my years of study in the Aletheia unfoldment method. Aletheia Coaching is a next-generation, trauma-sensitive approach to coaching that integrates scientifically proven methods for generating lasting transformation. Aletheia Coaching is the art of navigating inner worlds to uncover innate resourcefulness, creativity, and genius, opening fresh ways to respond more skillfully to the complexity and challenges of life. Aletheia is informed by exemplary modalities such as:
Parts Work, inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS). Parts Work can be explored conversationally or somatically.
We attune to our bodies with felt senses and images, inspired by Process Work and teachers such as Eugene Gendlin’s Focusing, and Robert Bosnak’s Embodied Imagination.
Somatic practices inspired by Biodynamic Breathwork, Bioenergetics, Radix, and Bodynamics among others.
Presence Work, inspired by A.H. Alamaas’s Diamond Approach.
What is Presence?
Presence is you in your wholeness.
It is your innate inner resource for navigating the complexities of work and life and living with purpose and joy.
There are many Qualities of Presence. They can be expressed through qualities like joy, compassion, kindness, love, truth, peace, strength, clarity, and many more.
